Yeah...finally i've finished my ICT (in-camp training) liao, by rite shld finished on thur but bcos got back so late that we can't do out-process, instead it was on the morning of fri. Anyway this ICT to everyone of the NSmen who went felt that it was an "love-hate" sensation, cos we got to have lots of fun doing stupid stuffs, and "hate" is bcos it is a very slow exercise bcos we went with the OCTs which they are not that experience yet. Haiz...very hard to xplain the fun-ness unless you are there to witness it, hopeful next time these group of NSmen that i went with can be together again for the next ICT, cos it's really damn fun until i felt that it was abit short. Of cos that is the feeling then, now got to be back with the reality liao.

Anyway CNY is coming (and i haven got any new clothes yet!), so i would like to wish everyone a Happy Chinese New Year!

Today i finally discovered the ancient mystery in my corps liao! Wat is it...please read on...

This morning while the cadets are practicing their drills at the parade sq, i was in the SJ room with a fren toking abt some things, then i noticed the old trophies dated to the 80's. So i asked my fren is it possible to "re-colour" the trophies as they are part of our competition history, and also bcos they are still " fully intact" unlike some others trophies. After that i opened up the cupboards where we place the rest of the trophies (including those present times) and i was checking thru the old ones seeing which could also be "re-colour", then i saw a souvenir plate with inscriptions of chinese on it, so i try my language skills on reading the inscriptions.

The inscriptions translated as: "St John Ambulance Brigade, Tanglin Divison 15th anniversary celebrations" and also "donated and presented by Mr..." and it was dated "1980, Sep 7th".

After reading out, i was very delighted to know this infomation cos i always wanted to know when was St John Tanglin established. I started tracing back 15 years from 1980, and i found out that it was the year 1965, which means we are of the same "age" as S'pore and also that we are "41 years old" this year.

Actually i should have found out earlier cos the souvenir plate i've seen it before, but i din carefully read out the chinese wordings on it. Haiz...wat was sad is that if i've found out earlier we could celebrate our 40th anniversary last year, but bcos of this i've decided that we should be kept known of our history in the future. Maybe we can take a yearly foto of the corps, with our members lined up to form the year of the Corps's anniversary, and this year would be 41st.

Anyway after discovering this, it gives mi the feeling that i wanna celebrate the Corps's 50th anniversary which also marks the Golden Jubilee of the Corps. For extra, i know that the Brigade Regulations states that Corps that has been in continuous existence for 50 years can be awarded the "Jubilee Certificate". When that day comes, maybe we can gather all the ex-members together and celebrate this joyous event, so 9 more years people to 50...haha!

I also asked my fren in the room whether we should make another souveiner plate for the celebrations of the 41st anniversary of the Corps, together with some other ex-members of the corps. Anyway...Hapi 41st bday to Tanglin Corps this year!

Before i forgot, i wanna share wat i've read yesterday while i was slacking during my ICT. While i was resting in a room, i saw a newspaper dated 6 jan and started flipping thru the pages to read. Something caught my eye when i saw the picture of two elderly ladies holding in their hands a certificate of nursing from St John Ambulance, so i started reading up abt it. It was abt the two ladies who had known each other for 60 years, and 60 years ago both of them took up nursing courses from St John Ambulance. Reading half-way i wondered if both of them was invited to the open house last year when St John (S'pore) celebrated it's 70th anniversary, cos they are surely to be able to provide even more history on St John in S'pore. After reading the whole article i wanted to keep this part for keepsake but since the newspaper isn't mine, so i din't took it in the end. Anyway the article is from "The Newpaper (date 6 Jan)", so anyone reading this and may have come across it, can maybe cut it out for mi so that i can keep it as a keepsake.

I believe most of you guys din't know that i'm actually quite fond of keeping historical items or things that has an meaning behind it. This is also the reason why i'm so fond of histories texts, and also why i took up history in my Os. And also i like to take pictures of events happened, although i don't own an camera, so that's why i hope to buy one when i got the $$$. Do you know pictures alone can bring back many memories, of cos if i can get my hands on a Digital Camcorder to records video that will be an bonus!

My previous i mentioned abt my passion for parades, so this post i'm gonna tok more abt it. You've a problem with me posting this? If you have, then i suppose you shouldn't be here and why do you still bother reading my blog, cos people reading my blog is here to understand abt me leh!

Aniway back to my passion, i always wanted to conducted a parade on "Trooping the Colours" ever since my organisation had commissioned new colours to the brigade and zones. For wat i know usually when a colour is commissioned it will be "trooped", as least this is wat the SAF is usually doing when a new colour is commissioned when the old retires. Though my organisation had a Commissioning of Colours parade but it did not had a Trooping the Colours parade, i dunno is they dunno abt it or is they dun wan to do it but nevertheless i still would like to conduct it once, at least for my zone parade.

Oh...sorry if you dun understand wat is trooping the colours, but you can go to this website where it will provide you with more info on it. http://www.trooping-the-colour.co.uk/ (btw trooping the colours parade is originated from England)

Other than "obsessed" with parades, i'm also "obsessed" in other related items to the parade like Colours, which are actually brightly coloured flags, and also other parade equipments especially the drill cane and the pace stick (which my organisation dun use it in parades) . Although the pace stick isn't a equipment to be used on parade for my organisation it is still an important equipment as it can be used to "mark out" markers on the parade ground. If ever i've a chance to conduct such parade i've mentioned above, i'll invest $$$ in a good pace stick which i've always wanted it. (below is a pic of the pace sticks)

After i've mentioned things abt parades and it's related things, i think mostly those who browse my blog will have many many "Qns mark" on your head. So i've provided you guys with some links to understand more about "Colours" http://www.geocities.com/inescutcheon/FlagsMilitary.HTML and also more ideas about parades in Singapore http://www.geocities.com/singaporeparades/

If you guys wanna ask me more about parades and stuff, dun be shy or anything cos i'm a MASTER in it...wahaha, bahaha...!!!

Suprised...! I think most ardent fans of mine will be wondering why is HE blogging today, and if you've been routine-ly reading my blog will understand why seeing a post on my blog is an surprise. For you guys still wondering wat is it, it is tat today is my 1st day of ICT (In-Camp Training) and i shldn't be able to blog cos i'll nt be home. The reason very simple...when it means in-camp it also does nt mean is stay-in-camp so i'm able to go back home almost everyday unless there's an outfield lor.

Recently i feel i've to uphold the hapiness level cos almost all my fren's blog are so full of unhapiness, therefore my blog has the responsiblity to bring up the hapiness level. This is so when after people finished reading my fren's blog can click the links to read up something more interesting, cos if everyone in the links wrote alot of unhapiness post will create alot of negative vibes onto someone (bah?) maybe even in getting the "Read negative vibes blog syndrome". The effects of it? It is still a newly discovered syndrome and is still being in the observation period, therefore many things are yet known to the scienist who discovered it, but the discovering scientist ahtan was able to tell the media tat this syndrome is caused by reading too much of negative vibes blog.

Wahaha...guys if are wondering wat am i toking abt for the 2nd paragraph, it is nt restricting you guys not to write ur unhapiness down but actually i would hope you guys could lighten up once you've wrote it down, instead of after writing it down and still having unhapiness feelings abt it lah. Remember wat i've said leh...cos if you dun! U might get the "post lots of negative vibes syndrome". Bahaha!

Anyway recently one of my SJ fren mentioned abt parade stuffs to mi, and it kind of re-ignited my passion for parades again. If you guys dunno, actually i'm very very happy to attend parades or be in a parade (provided the parade is grand in it's level) or maybe just coordinating the parade. My few years in the army helped me understand more special parade less known to the general public (and i was forced in the 1st place) and also my nt few years (10 yrs..wahaha!) in SJ allows me to attend some major parades and in my corps level coordinated some local parade. I was hoping maybe one day i can be able to help or participate a parade with my ideas put into it, if you are wondering wat is it, you shld know it cos i did mentioned before. Anyway i also hope tat zone can also organise a "fancy drill compeitition" so we can have a friendly compeitition in creativity and precision in drills.

Lastly..."Baris Sedi...a", "Hormat Ah Tan Hor...mat"! (Bands playing music to accompany salute) Wahaha!

"Hold on a sec!", "Huh...i thot...", "Isn't he said...". I believe these are some of the words that would come out from your mouth the minute you seen me posting on the blog today, when i've alredi said yesterday that it's against my protocol to blog on other weekdays except wed. But after considerations i decided to post instead, for the benefit of those avid fans of mine who always frequent my blog. The reason is i'm gonna to gone for the next 2 weeks starting from 16/1, cos i'm going back for my ICT for the common term "Reservist". I'll be back on the 27/1 evening, so stay tune for the "ICT episodes" on my blog hor!

Is there a trend or it is just me? Cos 2 pple have told me to go make myself an SJ uniform, and my obvious reply would be "give me money lor". Very interestingly none of them reply me back like "ok lor" (and give me $ for making one), and usually they will just say "i wanna see you in uniform leh". I believed i've alredi mentioned before in my blog why i'm not wearing any uniform bah! I think maybe if one fine day i've money or the zone is gonna sponsor me a uniform, then i will go make one bah cos uniform isn't cheap and i dun like to wear tuck in uniform. PS: Anyone knows the price of making an uniform please send me, thnx! (cos need to take some reference mah!)

Before i end i wanna (officially) introduce you guys to my lovely pet "ah zhu zhu". Where is she? I believe she likes to play around at the mud pool, just at your lower right hand corner and scroll down cos the pool is quite low down there. Play with her if u guys are bored, if she is happy with you she will start rolling in the mud and also feed her as many apples as you like cos she can digest food very fast even before you could say "apple". So enjoy your stay (read) at my blog and also remember to play around with my pig oh...

I believe by now u guys shld hav notice tat i only (usually...most of the time...) blog on wed and weekends only...is it so...or you wanna chk thru my "other's little bits"? Yesterday i wanted to blog cos i feel like doing some writing BUT i "strongly" restricted myself cos it's against the "Ah Tan's Blogging Protocol" to blog on other weekdays xcept on wed. So finally i'm blogging again on a low morale day...haix, also one of the reasons why i always blog on wed.

Recently started to read up the "free" newspaper "past tense of tml", cos every morning when i'm going to school i would grab a copy. Why am i reading such newspaper, cos i'm now studying things related to the media and it will be helpful for mi in my projects tat is going to come soon.

Aniway...these days the hotest topic is abt the civil emergency exercise which was held last sunday. I've notice that quite a number of the public was very supportive of it and hope tat the nxt be held on rush hours, cos terrorist often strikes during peak hours. IMHO (in my honest opinion) i also agreed that such exercise be held with more realistic simulations and on peak hours, but i also like every other s'poreans worries is wat if when u met up with such exercise is the time you are rushing for an important thing. Neverthless i still would like to be particpating in such exercise in the future but of cos nt when i'm hav to rush for something important lah!

This sat is going to be my sch's cca open hse and i'm actually quite excited abt but also at the same time feel fearful, cos i'm worry tat the recruitment isn't gonna be desireable but still i'm gonna work out something with an open heart. As you guys know lah...i'm actually quite kiasu so i'm gonna pray for my wishes to come true first before it starts. My wish is that recruitment can work out well and even better over our expectations and that we can do well this year to achieve a gold in caa, cos it's my 10yrs aniversary mah!

Ok i'm stopping nw, cos gonna be 12nightnite liao. If i dun post it before 12 it will be on thur liao!

Before i start writing (i'm alredi writing wat...) a happy birthday greeting to sharon whose bday is today (7/1). So HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I believe you guys must have wondered wat's on my day of school, and wat i can only tell you is i din really catched wat my lecturer was teaching cos i was so busy trying to make myself a little bit warmer cos it was so cold man! The next lesson i'm gonna wear my windbreaker in for every single lesson until the day the aircon is down, then i'll be so happy cos i will be able to wear my bermuds and sandals to school...wahaha!

After my school yesterday i went out with the "old gang" and if you are wondering wat "old gang" then you are not from this old gang cos you might be in the other "old gang" or you are simply not in the "old gang" at all. Anyway we went for dinner and coffee before the countdown to the above mentioned name bday. With such coincidence ah moi and i both got ourself pain in somewhere, ah moi was having pain after a sprain of her waist and i was suffering from my neck pain which i wasn't able to turn my head too much and fast. It was some fun to catch up with some old frens once in a while and chat (gossip) abt others. And wat was "disturbing" yesterday while we are at the coffe club, we requested the waiter to switch off the fan (cos we stting outside) and it was switched off. Then while in the middle of our conversation the fan was switched on again, so my fren went to tell him to switch the fan off (again). The waiter replied "huh, i thot i switch off liao" then my fren pointed at the fan and said "nope, it's on again". You know wat the funny thing was...it happen again and everything has to repeat itself...alamak!

Oh my i've wrote so much and yet i've reach to wat i'm gonna write for today, i've got to update my blog more often whenever there's something on otherwise this kind of post will happen again.

Woke up this morning ard 8 plus and i was going to wash up, i heard my hp ringing so went to answer the phone. It was yvonne asking mi whether i'm going down NH so can help buy face shield (at 1st i heard was tissue). After hanging up the phone i wondered why asking mi to buy tissue where she can use something like...toilet paper? Anyway later clarified it was face shield then i was orh...then replied back "where got phramacy open so early in the morning?".

After which went to hq for some meetings lah, discuss something here and there and there over here lor, anyway just something which can't be concluded lah! After which went for another meeting with the corps pple to discuss the plans lor. Aiyo so many meetings all of the sudden, and more are yet to come man!

Later part of the day met up with yvonne, umi and suksi for a mini gathering to "debrief" matters pertaining to the "no-need-to-mentioned-also-know-subject" lah. Seems like more "interesting" stuffs will soon be coming to our doorsteps liao! After which went back home and do the...wat wat thing lor...wat thing? post on the blog lah, otherwise you won't get to read anything lor!

Today is such a sian day, spend almost the whole afternoon doing my deferment thingy...and still it isn't done yet...got to do it tomolo again...haiz! At least for consolation those i called to enquire were quite helpful and polite.

Something to luk forward is i'm starting my course tomolo liao, so unsure of wat kind of classmates will i have...jokers like mi...hopefully cos den it will be fun, just dun give mi those anti-social people lah. So sian tomolo got to wake up early and have to "squeeze" into the LRT and MRT to go to school, hopefully the MRT won't be very "squeezzze".

Anyway to prepare for school i went for a haircut, had my hair cut very short so i won't have bad hair day or the need to style my hair in the morning b4 going to school. Haha...i'm a lazy person...u 1st day know mi meh, tat's why u never see mi in long hair mah.

Btw if you guys are worrying tat i might not have time for u guys since i'm starting school, then u are veri veri wrong liao cos i'm still tat fun loving person, so still remember to call mi leh. For those in SJ if u also think i will be bz to help out, then u are veri veri wrong (again) cos even b4 the new year starts i'm alredi doing more things liao. Anyway last word is...i'm still a free person...wahaha!

Ah...ha...! My first post of the year, usually it shld be written on the 1st of jan but bcos of certain unforeseen circumstances (lazy to post mostly...) it was drag until today. Hmm...wat shld i post on my 1st post of the year? My new year resolutions, tat is too over liao cos resolutions are onli the top topics b4 new year so too outdated to post liao. So...wat are the things i shld post neh?

Tomolo is starting work and school, but still not my time yet to go to school yet thot i think i'm getting abit excited going back to studies after so long. As for work...i've alredi started working, wat work i'm working for...SJ lor. Calculting the odds of achieving the BUC thingy (praying during free time for the 50/50 odds also), doing some draft out plans for the whole year...arh...alot and is neverending but some are quite rewarding (not in terms of cash lah...but i hope lah, haha!)

Btw abt my 10yrs...once i thot how i shld celebrate my admission to the 10yrs veteran alummi club, by wearing my SJ uniform again after so long...hehe but i dun hav all the proper uniform thingys liao, except for my beret which i placed it in the same position after the last time i was "seasoning" it. If u're wondering why so long din wear liao, cos i was never required to wear and mostly bcos it is a tucked-in one which i hated tucked-in...so as days went past the uniform began to "rot" and uniform items soon went missing. So back to the thinking board on how to celebrate my admission to the veterans club again...
