I'm back! Probably you won't feel a thing if you dun visit this blog often, but for those who do will find that my last post is two weeks ago. Computer was abit "short short" so can use the com as much as i like and becos last week was a busy week to do any blogging. So it's time to catch up with those moments of last week.

First was the National Day Parade, it was much anticipated for me and likely the rest of Singapore. Watched the parade and find that this year sort of like very quiet as compared to other years, but at least this year is better than last year mostly bcos of the "march in". Last year they did a run instead of march and i feel that it looks messy, "some up and some down". Overall the parade is still very much my favourite. This year they did a uncasing colours at suntec, should have gone down to watch it but then again too lazy to go bcos over there is bound to be crowded. Lucky someone did took down a video of it and uploaded onto youtube, lucky for me but the video did not capture everything. As usual i am attentive during the parade but almost fell asleep during the rest of the performance.

Then on friday, the brunch of cousins went for a KTV-ing seesion to celebrate one of the cousin ah li's birthday. Enjoy the session but did not sing much bcos of the "mouth problem".

Saturday, my cousin pei fern's (aka Sha..."what"...ni) wedding. This is "sort of" of first time attending a malay wedding. Reaching there saw alot of people most of them i never seen them before, then later saw some familiar faces...on the stage...preparing to take photo and all those are my cousins, so i immediately dashed up and managed to be in the picture...haha!

Finally got the time and energy to blog on my fantastic weekend.
04/07/07

Went to NH for the CDI course in the morning wearing my formal wear with my favourite canvas shoe, where everyone were in their uniform. Haha...to lazy and troublesome to bring so many things cos later still have to go SP's convention hall for a presentation.

Anyway the course has the attendance of around 20 people (i guess) but that is expected for me that not so many people will attend. Still the course seems fun to me...and probably the cadets cos they get to learn my things about drills. I guess the most interesting part (my perspective of a cadet) should be the colour drills and what i'm teaching is probably the most boring. On the other hand (which is my own persepctive) i think mine part is more "useable" because it is more applicable.

Another thing to note is that after the course, I went eating with some of the cadets (i think most) to Mcdonalds. While i'm drinking and talking with some of them the rest are into planning the parade. Seems to me they are enthu enough to come together and plan rather than just "qing cai, qing cai" do it. Feels assured as an instuctor to see such a scene.

After the hangout, went down to SP with some og my cadets. Reached liao, then looking around trying to find the teachers or some spot that can tell me that i should go there. Then my phone rang and it is mrs koh, to check whether i've reached, and i happen to be. After that she find me my seat, but the sitting area is empty with no one. So after sitting there for like 5 mins, i decide to msg some of my other cadets, and after a few sms i went looking for them. Dunno how long i've wandering about the place, i was told that guest will be seated at 6.15pm, so wander abit more and it is time to be seated. Finally there are some people sitting in my sitting area but they are nowhere near to me, and without a choice i went to my seat trying to keep myself entertained with the programme booklet which i've read it like umpteen times.

Finally someone came and seated beside which is also a fellow award recipient like me, felt more lonely but then i dunno him well except that i seem him before in boys brigade. Then i saw someone with a police uniform came to sit with me and other award recipients, but i presume he is one of the npcc honourary officer that i've read in the booklet. After looking at the two other fellow award recipients, i feel that i'm the oldest among them but for consolation my other award recipients are members of the parents support group, so i feel younger in this perspective.

I was presented with this award which is " Friend of Tanglin Award" and a fruit basket, which i gave it to the members to let them share among themselves. Best thing is that i've to place the fruit basket on my lap for the rest of the performance, which was like another 1 hour!
What surprise me is that i'm treated the same like those VIPs, never was one until that day. I was only seated at the back row seats that the Guest of Honour is sitting, and i get to leave the hall when it is only the time for "ladies and gentlemen pls wait while the GOH and guests makes their way to the reception". I think the two UG fellow award recipient felt the same cos initally during the annoucement we thot we have to wait also but then my teacher-in-charge told us we can make our way to the reception liao.
Didn't eat anything at the reception and left early becasue tomorrow still got CPB meeting in the morning.
