Yesterday went to BookFest 2007 at Suntec Convention Halls with two of my cousins. Surprising (to me) the place wasn't cramped up with people, can leisurely walk around looking for books.

So went around looking for any books that can catch my eyes, strolled to a feng shui section (a very large section with a big pillar stating feng shui). Didn't find anything interesting so walked over to another section by the side, and saw one of the book that i was looking for (see below)...

Liu Qian de mo fa qian zheng

It's a book on magic tricks, which i borrowed a copy from my community library but pages were torn from it making my reading experience (and learning) an unhappy one. Still learned a few tricks and showed to a few and the results was great, so wanted to own myself a copy for keepsake and reference too in case i forget the tricks. Always have this problem when i dun practice the trick for a long time.

Anyway brought the book at a 20% discount, was even more pleased with it but unfortunately they did not have his previous two books "Ah! Bai Ge Mo Shu" and "Ah! Bai Ge Mo Shu Part 2". I wonder where can i get my hands on these two books to add to my collections, also the his upcoming fourth book also makes me excited whether will it be as good as the one i read.

Btw...wondering if you guys noticed that my posts are getting more graphic...it is bcos i got myself a new cybershot phone! So excited cos it's only $68 (w/o any trade in) for a 3.2 megapixel cybershot handphone, and bcos it is one of the few cybershot phones with 3.2, where the rest are far more expensive than this one. With a cybershot phone, i can now take pictures whenever i want and i get to blog it, so my blog is getting more interesting liao cos a picture says a thousand words!

Yesterday was my sis's wedding...scroll down for the photo blog of the event!

The lighting of the "Long Feng Zu" starts the day (at 7.30 am -_-") with the hair combing and makeup.

Just before the arrival of the groom, my parents did the "ritual" to cover the veil of the bride.

And after that is my showtime liao! I got to open the car door for the groom, which i get to receive an ang bao in exchange for two oranges ;P

Groom stuck outside the gate to my house, which they are "forced" to do lots of funny games like tying an egg on the groom and one of his best man and they are to break the egg with each other's egg.

After the tea ceremony is abit of phototaking, too many people so didn't manage to take any fotos. My parents and the wedding couple.

Finally! Time to go church...oh my...my first time in church!
Part of the blessings script from the book...

Reception time! The Decor seems nice...so took a pic.

The one dish i didn't manage to eat!

The plate of my cousin's...took in case i didn't manage to get any food cos there was alot of people.

Commotion during the cousins photoshoot with the couple!

Finally the end of the wedding and reception. Two of my cousins helping to clear the tables and chairs.

@#%&!!! Yesterday was the worst day of my life!!!

When i'm abt to step out of my house, it starts to rain...blardy. Then still have to go down HCI to bring down the trophies cos the blardy trophy supplier did not give us those that we wanted. Anyway got help from ding jie and glen to help carry the 4 boxes to the bus stop. Flag for numerous cabs and kena rejected by them...blardy, then finally got one said ok liao. On the cab then we showed him where exactly to go, then told us he dunno how to go cos he only started driving a few days only, wa lau what luck man!

Finally reached somewhere near the place but cannot find the place, so went around the place for sometime then finally found it. Unloaded all the boxes at the gate cos cab cannot go in, then carried the boxes to the shop and to my surprise they've moved...blardy and they did even mentioned they moved...idiots!

Then found where they moved to, so we carried the boxes to the overhead bridge cos is still raining and that is the nearest shelter to get a cab. Blardy...have to be "rained" by the rain...i'm becoming "Rain" liao lor! Got a cab liao, moved all the boxes onto the cab and this time i kena my head while moving...blardy, then went to the place and the place is blardy difficult to find the stupid shop. We went around the whole building and still cannot find, then asked someone they said middle still got shops, wa lau why the place got left right and center one?

Reached liao...the blardy idiot is not there lor, told us to go drink something first. We came back after drinking and the blardy idiot is still not back, so we asked the rest. After some "communication" between the workers and the blardy idiot we get to settle some stuffs. So told the worker what are the changes need to make and what are those missing, asked her to show us exactly everything so to confirm. In the middle, some other customer came and she went to entertain them. i thot only a while, then another group came to get their trophies and she start to look for it also. So pek chek...i said in front of the customers and workers "xiao jie! wo men teng hen jiu liao, wo men xian lai de leh!" then she help us again...blardy!

Finally everything settled, on the way back, the moment we step out of the building the rain poured on us...blardy. So we decided to take a cab home with only $14 on us, before reaching the meter already reached to $14 plus, lucky shusian got bring her course group funds so can use it first.

Dun ever get me to order anything from this blardy supplier no matter how nice their trophies are or how cheap, the services is super duper lousy!

Saturday went for parade rehearsal even though it was my sis's "guo da li" but bcos i'm in-charge together with wy, have to be there. Anyway went down at ard 8.30, was actually earlier but got abit disoriented and also walking slowly, 8.30 then reach HCI. Upon reaching walking slowly trying to find where is the place, then someone called me, luckily the colour escorts are there early too!

Saw the "parade sq" and was very very blank, without a slightest clue how shld i mark the parade. The parade sq isn'r square and not big but the worse is the two lamp post in the middle! Which made me keep on saying "Call 42 SAR to activate their tanks to trample the lamp post down". Watever i finally start to mark the parade after blank-ing for 15 mins.

At 9.30 plus most of the key appointment holders have come and we did some rehearsals with them...known as "subaltern parade" haha! Then came the trainees of ANCOC and BNCOC at 12, they did sizing but they can still dun remember their position even straight after their sizing...aiyo...nco-to-be...!!!

All of us rehearsal under the super duper hot sun, which made me look like a roasted pig. To my surprise i actually got sunburned...this is my first time, not bcos i never got expose to sun for long time, is that at most i'll be blacken but not sunburned. So abit pain when the skin gets irritated...my first experience of sunburn!

In the end the trainees did quite well for rehearsal, but still have to hope that they keep up the good job and got improvement on actual day. As for the key appoinment holders, so far so good but bcos are important factors on parade so must practice more and be more confident!

Lastly, i sincerely pray that day will be a very fine weather day, if not may not be able to have the parade when all of us have put in so much effort! Sunny Day...everyday!

On 17th of Nov, was asked to attend the annual SJ banquet @ SJ "Grand Ballroom". So wanted to share what i experience during the banquet, i decided to blog on the dishes that we ate.

This the 1st dish, some spring rolls, salad prawns, some "fake" abalone, and some other things. The 1st dish is known as the "cold plate" which it really explains why the food on this dish, cos the food like the spring roll is already like "autumn roll" liao...no need to mention the rest you also know bah.

This is the 2nd dish, when the waitress is serving i joke with the rest of us whether there is abalone, then we noticed the waitress nodding her head like signaling that there is in the pot! So we were quite excited, but in the end we didn't find any except some that look-a-like.

THe 3rd dish is chicken (with veg), not very to my liking except for the veg, although i did eat a big portion of the chicken. Also during this time they decided it was "time" to made their speeches, so as a mark of respect we didn't eat when they are speaking. i find that they should make their speech, presentations first then everyone can eat happily mah!?

4th dish is my favourite, it is prawns coated with some sweet sauce. It is real tasty that i feel like eating more, luckily 2 out of 8 of us went off before this dish so we get to eat more but still manage to eat ard 3 only...haix!

5th is the commonly seen dish on chinese cuisine, the fish. This time the fish is like so-so only as compared to the one i ate during my cousin's wedding, that why i only ate abit of it.

6th is spareribs, the one on the right is the sweet one and the left is kopi. Both of them are quite good except that the sweet one can eat more and not feel sick of it, no wonder everyone keeps eating the sweet one lah. So left quite abit of the kopi and i decided to eat them all, after eating for quite a number of it can really feel sick of the kopi liao.

7th dish is the "He Ye Fan". By the time this dish arrived i'm already quite full and cannot eat more liao, so only eat 2 small bowls of it...the 2nd one is bcos dun wan to waste the food mah!

Last dish is my first try, Fried Ice Cream. This is really well made (i think) cos the other layer is cripsy and to my surprise the ice cream inside is not melted but still cold and hard leh. Sadly i only ate one cos wanted to left the place fast cos is already 11pm, still have to catch the train. Haix...i regretted the moment i left for not eating another one!

Lastly the "crime scene" of what is left of our table. If you see clearly and remember what i've blog, you can surely find where i was seated!

My conclusion, or rather everyone's is that next year if we are ever to come again, it will be that the "Grand Ballroom" is air-conditioned!
