I am now "officially" as termed by weiye that i'm a "lao chek" and no more encik, cos yesterday AGI i received my service medal from the order of sj. The medal is awarded to members for servicing ten years, twelve for me cos cadet years is only counted half. If you want to know more abt this medal juz go google or yahoo it and you can read all abt it from any website cos the medal is the same thru out all sj in the world.

The Service Medal of the Order of St John (above).

Someone asked me why there is a girl (lady) on the medal? Then i told him is Queen Victoria not any girl, then he replied back i thot shld be Queen Elizabeth (btw there is two Queen Elizabeth, and assuming he is refering to the living one but either case not relevant). Wanted to explain is bcos Queen Victoria granted the order of sj royal charter but i think i'll hav to explain more wat is royal charter, therefore i juz answer back with something simple.

A pic of me at AGI after i've received my medal.

After this i hav to spend $$$ on mounting my medals, that's the bad point for receiving medals. Maybe they shld include free mounting and this time they din give us the ribbon so hav to buy too, aiyo going broke liao leh!

Yesterday went on a one day tour to Johor, Malaysia cos my cousin won ticketsduring a lucky draw. So those pple that are wondering why i din appear at dunman, this is the reason cos this is my 2nd overseas tour in my present lifetime!

Me and my cousins at the meeting point at 6.30 am...gosh waking up and taking 1st train!

Finally we are onboard the bus! Proceed with our tour...yeah! OMGosh the sky is super dark, it's gonna rain but it doesn't seems to dampen my happy mood!

Yeah our bus finally went through Singapore custom and we are on our way across the 2nd link to Malaysia, here i come michelle yeoh!

Got my stamp! i can enter Malaysia liao.

I am on Malaysia's land! Can't seems to find Michelle Yeoh, so got to do it with this Malaysia's flag banner. Although i can also make do with a board showcasing a custom officer (auntie) welcoming you to Malaysia, i prefer the flag better!

We stop by at this food place to have our breakfast, seems abit lok-kor but inside many pple sia.

We ordered all these plus char siew bao, quite cheap cos everyone is like paying for $2 plus (Sing dollars of cos), and it was a treat by my cousin too.
Next we stop by this cocoa factory or outlet for some purchases and culture learning, purchase has more priority over learning...bahaha! But still here's the history of chocolate in Malaysia.

And professor tan of the cocoa university of extra tasty chocolate presenting to you the making of chocolate.

They have alots of cooca products and chocolates.

And the best of all is this...Tongkat Ali flavor chcocolate...OMG! They even put this into chocolate...viagra soon to be replaced or viagra going to appear as chocolate soon?

Then we went on our way to Yong Peng. Along the we see trees...

...more trees again...

...finally some houses and a far away mountain...but after that more trees and trees again...then something happen! i became too tired watching trees...i fell asleep as we continued our way on the bus to Yong Peng. Gosh the journey was long, taking an hour plus to reach there.

After stooping by Yong Peng for toilet break and petrol pump up for our bus we continue our way into the village plantations. Along the way the scenery is different now, we don't only see trees but we also see alot of houses...

Finally we reached our first plantation, the-one-that-grows-the-fruit-that-will-produce-the-sugar-that-is-found-in-ondek-ondek. Paiseh dunno the name cos in Melayu. Anway our in-house guide explaining to us about the fruit or plant that produces it.

The product when it is cooled. When required to use it, it will be boiled into liquid and it will appear to look just like the sugar syrup we see in ondek ondek.

Me in front of the huge boiling pot.

Then on our way to the coffee plantation. This is the "canal?" of the village which was used many years ago for water source now the have water pumiping system. So dangerous at night cos you might drop into it...now i loved the drianage system in Singapore and their covers!

My cousin with a "not-so-wild" cherry pluck for us by the guide.

We reached the coffee plantation. Here the owner showing how to prepare the snacks that we are going to have, dunno what is it called but my cousin kept saying you can find this in S'pore pasar malam, which i never seen before.

Who's the handsome beside the coffee tree? (Er...yucks...puke all over the place)

Caught in the act of eating my snacks!

Another with me eating my small surry puff.

Last one liao...eating a salted little fish, very salted but after tasting it and then a mouth of coffee makes it less salted and the coffee more sweeter (btw the coffee is black coffee).

Before boarding the bus, i took a pic on the road of Malaysia's kampong.

Then a pic of the place where we visited the coffee plantation. This pose makes me look fat...regretted taking my cousin's suggestion.

Reaching the next stop, we had a introduction on palm tree and it's "flower?". Btw palmolive, the soap leh, is made from these palm oil produced by the trees.

OMG what big hairy balls you have...behind you? Erm...that's rambutan!

Look at the big hairy _______ i have!

The aftermath of a visit of a bunch of Singaporeans tourist...

And on the plantations, we get to try on the playing the spinning top...which everyone fails except one auntie...auntie very powerful one leh! (advise to you dun look down on one)

Next we went to pineapple plantation. Should pluck one and upon reaching home throw one inside the house to represent "wang lai". Btw try it when you are moving into a new house, it is a tradition together with the switching on the fan and boiling water at the same time (feng sheng shui qi).

I looked like i'm gonna do something to this plantation, just like a thief or a baddie but surprising i like this pic the best...bahaha!

So dark...but i think you can see the yellow thingy sticking out from our mouth, that's pineapple and it is very nice it does not sting your tongue like those we buy at supermaket.

After visiting the plantations, we headed back Johore for our dinner and i caught something. Not the milo girl lah...but the number on top of the traffic lights. In S'pore we have the numbers showing to predestrian how many seconds to red man, in Malaysia this is for the motorist instead leh.

At the seafood restaurant for our seafood dinner. Surprising the only seafood that we see on the table are fish and sotongs, the rest of the dishes are vegetables, tofu and chicken. So we wondering what's so seafood about this seafood dinner?

On board the bus for our journey back to Singapore. Happy that i'm going back S'pore but feeling a bit down cos my 2nd present lifetime overseas tour is ending liao.

Concluding my overseas experience is the local food product that we brought. Din't buy alot cos all my riggits are from my mum cos din't intend to buy things before the tour, but receive some from my mun the night before the tour so just brought a few for her.

Lastly, want to show you but dun think you can see lah, the one in pink standing is our local tour guide who happens to be a teacher by profession. Doing part time as a tour guide during weekends. My cousin commented the first time she speak to us that she sounds like a teacher and it turns out she really is a teacher.
Ok that's my 2nd overseas tour in my present lifetime, hope to go on tour next time if not like very "frog-in-the-well" lor must go out walk walk see see.
